Hi, I’m Abe Sutton, and I am running for College UA representative. This past year on the UA I wrote a resolution with PennSID encouraging the University to pressure companies to not use conflict minerals. When the Dream Act Resolution failed to gather enough votes to pass in the UA I rewrote it and encouraged my fellow UA members to pass it. This past UA has been extremely active in the realm of Social Justice and I intend to establish a new Social Justice Committee in the UA next year to handle these issues. With regard to Politics, I am social liberal and fiscally conservative. Like many of you, I don’t agree with either party on every point. That said I am a registered Republican who is proud to have received the Endorsement of PennDems. I believe that we need to increase dialogue on campus, between political groups. If we do so, I think we would be surprised by how much we can agree on. To this end I would support revamping how steering works to promote group collaboration. Thanks for your support and remember to vote on Pennstudgov.com!
